FAQs

When will my club open?

Fitness First clubs will reopen in accordance with the Federal and/or State Government guidelines and will notify members by email.

What are the trading hours?

Click here to find your local club and view trading hours.

How is Fitness First protecting members and staff?

Our new measures include (but not limited to); increased cleaning specifications, hygiene stations placed in every area of the club, adhering to social distancing guidelines, a strict “no towel, no train policy” and closure of non-essential areas.

In addition, our staff have completed the Australian Government COVID-19 Infection and Prevention Control training, and will be issued with optional masks, disposable gloves and extensive cleaning kits ready for use. For full information, click here

What hygiene etiquette should I be following?

We ask that every member takes responsibility for personal hygiene and respects the space of others. This includes washing and sanitising hands; covering coughs and sneezes; maintaining a 1.5 metre distance from others, always training with a towel, bringing your own filled water bottle, yoga mat and boxing gloves; and avoiding unnecessary contact with surfaces.

What should I expect the first time I return to the gym?

The music will be playing, the clubs will be clean and we will have every safety measure in place. Our community of members and incredible team will be creating a vibe to motivate you to jump back into your fitness routine. However there will be some changes since your last visit.

Firstly, you are going to have to check if you need to book ahead of entering the club. Refer to the State Club Reopening Schedule at the top of this page for a state-by-state breakdown. This will ensure we are able to maintain physical distancing protocols. Find out more on our Booking page.

As you enter the club you will see COVID-19 signage. Physical distance spacing will be marked out in all studios and there will be floor stickers, banners, digi-screens and poster reminders throughout the club. Sanitisation stations will also be marked.

Find out what areas of the gym are still closed. Refer to the State Club Reopening Schedule at the top of this page for a state-by-state breakdown.

You will also see staff members doing regular cleaning. Please help our staff and your community of members by wiping down your equipment.

Do I need to book in to use the gym?

It’s essential to check if you need to book before coming to the gym. This will ensure we comply with Government regulations and provide a safe training environment.

Refer to the State Club Reopening Schedule at the top of this page for a state-by-state breakdown.

Find out more, and book your classes, via our Booking page.

Please note that you cannot book via the Kubofit app at this time. Please use the link above.

Whilst there is a booking system in place you will be able to train at any Fitness First club*. This will allow you even greater flexibility of how you train with Fitness First.

*Excludes Titanium.

Do I need to book in with my PT?

Yes! We can’t wait for you to train with your favourite PT’s again!  Please get in contact with your trainer to organise your session time, then you will need to book the “workout area” you will be training in for this session through our online booking platform. Don’t worry - your trainer will tell you which area to book before your session. Book your PT session.

How many bookings can I make?

To ensure all of our members have an equal opportunity to access our clubs, each member can book up to 14 sessions per week, 2 per day, booking confirmations will be sent via Email.

Once your workout or class is completed you can book in for your next session up to 7 days in advance.

How long can I book my workout for?

To comply with Government enforced social distancing regulations we have allocated 50 minute time slots for the Gym Floor & Cardio Equipment. Class bookings are 45 minutes in duration. If you are booking in with your Personal Trainer this is set to a 50 minute time slot, please contact them to confirm organise your session time, then you will need to book the “workout area” you will be training in for this session through our online booking platform.  Don’t worry - your trainer will tell you which area to book before your session.

What will I need to bring to the gym?

Please bring a filled water bottle and a towel, or hire/purchase one on arrival. If you are attending a Group Exercise class, we recommend bringing your own mat, particularly when attending Yoga and Pilates classes.

Refer to the State Club Reopening Schedule at the top of this page for a state-by-state breakdown on what areas of the gym remain closed, as it may impact what you prepare to bring.

Do I still need to bring a towel?

Yes. No towel = no workout. This policy will be enforced upon arrival.

Will Group Exercise timetables be the same?

Nothing will look quite the same post-COVID-19. To allow for cleaning and sanitisation between classes and manage the flow of people in and out of our studios, each class will now run for 45 minutes. Check out the timetable for your local club or via the Kubofit app.

Will I be able to use all equipment?

No. We have decommissioned some equipment in order to maintain social distancing guidelines. You might notice we have also repositioned some equipment on the gym floor. We have carefully considered the layout of equipment still in use to ensure you can perform a full body workout.

What areas of the gym are still closed?

Refer to the State Club Reopening Schedule at the top of this page for a state-by-state breakdown.

How do I reactivate my membership?

There is no action required from you, all memberships that were placed on freeze in line with the forced Government closure will automatically resume as clubs reopen in accordance with the State Government guidelines.

If you put yourself on Time Freeze prior to the Government closure and would like to reactivate, please contact your local club once it has opened.

My membership was placed on Time Freeze before the Government imposed closure, what happens to my membership now?

Your Time Freeze will continue for the arranged period, excluding the period of Government imposed closure. Your membership will resume and your account will be debited once your Time Freeze period has been completed. As our clubs are able to reopen, we will contact you via email with information specific to your membership.

I’m not ready to return to the gym.

We understand everyone’s circumstances are different, especially during this difficult time. If you wish to place your membership on Time Freeze, you can do so via the Member Portal.

The great news is you can also continue working out with your favourite instructors in the comfort of your home at no charge. Visit Fitness First At Home and use the password: fitnessfirst.

How has the closure impacted my contract period

When your membership is placed on Time Freeze, it is not counted towards your membership payments. This means your contract will resume once we are able to re-open our clubs.

For example, if you have six months remaining on a 12 month contract and your membership is placed on Time Freeze for two months, you will have another six months remaining once billing resumes.

I have pre-paid for my membership / Playzone / Swim School / Dance School. Will that carry over?

Yes. Any payments will be credited to your membership when you restart and your first payment will be as per your regular fee payment cycle. Your payments have remained on hold until we re-open these facilities.

I would like to access playzone facilities?

Great news, Play zone will re open in QLD July 13th, NSW/ACT 20th July.
