Do I need ID to enter the club?
Every Fitness First member gets their own membership card - bring it with you every time you visit the club. If you’ve forgotten your card, you’ll need to have photo ID.
What should I eat before an exercise session?
You need enough fuel to give you maximum energy for your workout, but not so much that you’re weighed down or end up with a cramp. Wait at least two hours after a big meal, but don’t exercise on a totally empty stomach either. It’s fine to consume a light snack before you exercise, but give your stomach at least 30 minutes to settle before you do. A carbohydrate snack like a banana, an energy bar or a slice of bread (no topping) is the best choice for fuelling your body for exercise.
Note: We highly recommend anyone partaking in extreme weightloss activities consults with their doctor beforehand.

Who can I ask if I have trouble using the equipment?
Our green-shirted Fitness Team are there to help answer your questions - please ask away if you gets stuck.
Can my children wait in the club?
For security reasons, children can only wait in the club if accompanied by an adult who’s seated with them. Some of our clubs have Playzone childminding facilities.
Do I need to drink more when exercising?
Replenishing your body with water whenever you sweat or exercise is absolutely vital. Sweating allows the body to maintain its core temperature, but if you don’t drink enough fluid to replace what you’ve lost, your body will overheat and you’ll probably feel fatigued, or even end up with a headache or an upset stomach.
The minimum amount of water you should drink in a day is eight glasses, and even more if you’re exercising. If you have an exercise session coming up, drink lots of water in the hours leading up to your workout, as well as immediately before, during and after your workout. A variety of energy drinks and snacks are available to purchase at the club.

What if I lose my membership card?
