A great way for your child or yourself to learn a lifesaving skill
At Fitness First Swim School we encourage each child and ensure that learning to swim is an enjoyable and rewarding experience by teaching them life saving skills in a fun and caring aquatic environment.
Swimming is an integral part of Australian culture, and we feel that every child should have the opportunity of learning to swim from a young age, swimming provides skills for life and children not only learn about staying safe in the aquatic environment, but also learn social skills, co-ordination, confidence, and living a fit and active life.
Our teachers will foster, develop and grow student’s skills through our structured aquatic education swim school program. Our swim schools are dedicated in providing the best teaching methods, and ensure that all students move through our program learning valuable core lifetime skills.
We are passionate about raising water awareness and providing the opportunity to learn a life saving skill throughout the community. Fitness First Swim Schools are affiliated with Swim Australia, the Learn-to-Swim division of the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) and AUSTSWIM, which is Australia’s national organisation for the teaching of swimming and water safety.
Our Swim Schools offers learn to swim lessons for all ages and abilities, from six months to adults. Children can progress from our beginner lessons to our more advanced squad program.
Fitness First Swim Schools have different categories according to each child’s skill level which are broken into four main categories based on swimming ability and then age - Water Introduction & Familiarisation, Learn to Swim, Stroke Development and Squad Development & Training. Parents are required to be in the pool for Water Introduction and Familiarisation classes, due to age and cognitive abilities.
In addition to our mainstream classes, we also offer SwimFirst special needs swimming classes, we are proud to offer our not-for-profit community programme to families with children who have diagnosed intellectual disabilities or impairments.
Fitness First Swim School has a dedicated team of staff, our programme is overseen by our Swim School Coordinator, and each of our team leaders are dedicated to providing our members with an elite swim school programme which provides life preservation skills and rewarding experience, for each student within our school.
Our swim team are qualified by leading industry organisations, trained in aquatic education, and continue their teaching development within our Fitness First swimming program. Our instructors are qualified in various areas which include - Infant Aquatics, Water Safety, Learn to Swim, Disabilities, Coaching, and Fitness.
We offer our Swim School in selected Fitness First locations across Australia, all our Swim Schools offer excellent facilities, and are continuing to grow into new locations. Contact your local swim school for enrolment or speak to our Swim School Team.
