What SAFETY MEASURES SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN GYMS REOPEN?

While we can’t wait to welcome you back, the health and safety of our members, staff, and the wider community remains our primary focus.

During the shutdown and subsequent phased re-opening in several states, we have implemented a range of new health and safety measures across all clubs in our network. When our Victoria gyms reopen, you will see a range of newly implemented measures including:

Capacity restrictions ensuring we meet the density requirement of 1 person per 4m2

A maximum of 150 people training at any one time within the facility

Group Fitness classes will have a maximum of 20 people (excluding instructor)

Increased Cleaning

Education programs including all staff undertaking Australian Government training modules on COVID-19

Hygiene stations

Cash-free purchases at reception

Social distancing including floor markings

New Group Exercise class procedures including a booking system so you can secure your spot ahead of time

We have also implemented a range of guidelines for members, including stay at home if you are feeling unwell; no towel = no train; wipe down equipment before and after use with the provided antibacterial wipes; always swipe in so that attendance records are accurate.

FAQs

How can I find out more about gyms reopening in Victoria?

As and when we receive updated directives from the VIC State Government, we will communicate with members via email. Information will also be available on our website and our social media accounts.

How is Fitness First supporting members who aren’t ready to return to the gym?

During the closure, we’ve been here with you online, keeping you motivated to stay active at home. Connect with us via our website, blog, Facebook and Instagram.

Please join our online community, Fitness First At Home Facebook Group, for live workouts, wellness advice and recipes. You can also download our free kubofit app to workout at home and stay on track.

Can I still access 24/7 clubs?

24/7 access will not be available yet, however we will update you if this changes.

What if I'm not ready to return to the gym

We are here to support your fitness for the long run. Therefore if you do not wish to return at this point you can place your membership on a complimentary Time Freeze, via My Fitness First.

Please note you can only apply a new Time Freeze once the current freeze has ended. The website may state $8 Time Freeze free, please rest assured this will be waived for any Victorian member who would like to Freeze their membership.

For more information about your membership, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions here or speak with a team member in club.

Will this affect the duration of my contract?

Yes. When your membership is placed on Time Freeze, it is not counted towards your membership payments. This means your contract will resume now that we are able to re-open our clubs.

For example, if you have six months remaining on a 12 month contract and your membership is placed on Time Freeze for six weeks, you will have another six months remaining once billing resumes.

I have paid up-front for my membership, how does this impact me?

If you have paid in full, your membership was suspended during the closure. Now that we are able to re-open our clubs, your membership agreement will be extended. You will be hearing from us via email with more information.

I have bought a pre-paid membership, how does this impact me?

If you have purchased a 10 or 25 visit pass, any unused visits will be available now that we are able to re-open our clubs. The expiry period of these visits will be extended.

I wish to cancel my membership

If you would like to cancel your membership, please email [email protected]
