To ensure you can continue to train with confidence, our Fitness First clubs follow an extensive range of safety measures and hygiene procedures.
The health and safety of our members and staff remains our top priority. That’s why we follow strict safety measures and cleaning protocols, so our members can continue to be supported in their physical and mental wellbeing in our clubs.
At this time, community is more important than ever. You can help us and your fellow members, stay safe and healthy by following these guidelines.
At Fitness First, the safety of our members and staff is our number one priority. We have put an extensive range of protective measures in place (as listed above). These include (but not limited to); increased cleaning specifications, hygiene stations placed in every area of the club, adhering to social distancing guidelines, a strict “no towel, no train policy” and closure of non-essential areas.
In addition, our staff have completed the Australian Government COVID-19 Infection and Prevention Control training, and will be issued with optional masks, disposable gloves and extensive cleaning kits ready for use.
Group Exercise classes will be capped in order to maintain appropriate social distancing. This will differ by class and by club. To make things easier, we have introduced an online booking system so you can secure your spot ahead of time.
In addition, class times will be spaced at least 15 minutes apart to allow for cleaning and sanitisation. On arrival, please avoid congregating around the studio entry.
Class programming has been re-designed to avoid member interaction and sharing of equipment. We ask that members adhere to social distancing guidelines by following the floor markings within the studio for the duration of the class.
Finally, we recommend you bring your own mat, particularly when attending Yoga and Pilates classes. Please bring only the essentials (towel, water bottle).
Wearing a mask is your choice and not mandatory according to the Federal Government. Some of our staff may wear masks.
It’s important that you swipe into the club when visiting. This will allow us to trace when you have entered and left the club, should the data be required by the Department of Health. We also encourage members to download the Government COVIDSafe app.
Fitness First follows all State Health recommendations and guidelines in relation to this matter. The relevant State Health Department will inform Fitness First if an individual who visited our clubs has tested positive for COVID-19. Fitness First will provide the State Health Department with the details of all members, guests and staff. The relevant State Health Department will contact members who are required to self-isolate or monitor for symptoms as a result of potentially being in contact with the member.
The Fitness First club will undergo a thorough process of deep cleaning, in addition to the increased daily cleaning, and then be cleared by the Health Department for reopening.
These will vary and change depending on State regulations, check out the Member Service Information page for more information. We will also keep you informed as these changes are made on social media and via email.
