How to burn off your guilty pleasures

Chips

Let's face it, we all give into our naughty cravings every now and again but how long does it take to work off those guilty pleasures at the gym?

Luckily for you, one of our expert personal trainers from Fitness First in London, Edwardo Zoppola - has all the answers.

Guilty pleasure: Soft drink

Coming in at 141.9 calories per can, you'd need to workout on the treadmill for approximately 15 minutes to burn off a can of your favourite fizz.

Edwardo's Fitness Tip

Add a 2.5 incline to your treadmill workout for harder resistance and extra calorie burning.

Guilty pleasure: Tim Tams

One of Australia's favourite snacks has 80 calories per biscuit. Thankfully, one 45-minute spinning class will burn off between 350 - 600 calories.

Edwardo's Fitness Tip

Keep in time with your instructor so that you are maintaining the optimum resistance to gain the best results.

Guilty pleasure: Chips

A single 45g bag contains 229 calories. A 100g party packet contains around 100 calories. But fear not, master the mitts and you can box off those calories with a 30-minute boxing workout.

Edwardo's Fitness Tip

Let your trainer hold the pads for ultimate resistance. Boxing isn't just for men, it's a great way for women to tone their upper arms.

Guilty pleasure: Hot chips

A typical medium serving contains 410 calories so you'd need to skip for 30 minutes at a high intensity.

Edwardo's Fitness Tip

To reap the benefits, your skipping technique needs to be like a boxer's: make sure you skip in time and maintain an ongoing speed throughout.
